Alison Dean

Trustee

Alison worked for HMRC for over 36 years. She held positions across the organisation, first training as a tax inspector but then moving into client relationship management with the Large Business Service before leading a large IT project, spending time in a policy unit and, before retirement, working as an Assistant Director in compliance risk management in the Individuals and Small Business Directorate.

Alison has worshipped at Wakefield Cathedral for 30 years. Both her children were choristers so she has a special interest in the music and liturgy of the Cathedral. She has also served as church warden, altar server and now sings with the Cathedral’s Voluntary Choir. Alison is also an Honorary Lay Canon of the Cathedral.

Alison has brought the skills acquired from her career in HMRC to the various Trustee roles that she holds. She served as Treasurer for the Bishop’s Development Fund for over 20 years and currently is a Trustee of the CROSS project – a Wakefield based charity that supports Christian teaching in local high schools.

In her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and also doing long distant walks with her husband. Their last walk was the Cotswold Way in 2024.

Jon Rigby

Treasurer

Jon is a retired audit manager, who lives in Wrenthorpe. He's been involved as The CROSS Project Treasurer for around 15 years, and has been thrilled to see how many young people's lives have been touched and how many have heard the good news about Jesus being alive and working in the world today.

Rev Andrew Griffin

Trustee

I am married with two grown-up children and a granddaughter. Much of my working life was spent as a chef with my own business, a profession that taught me the value of service, dedication and bringing people together. I later worked in Mental Health, where I developed a deep appreciation for compassionate care and supporting people through life's challenges.

In 2018, I was ordained, answering a lifetime calling to Christian ministry. Today, I serve as Priest-in-Charge of Trinity Church, Ossett and Gawthorpe, where I am committed to sharing the love of Christ, nurturing faith, and building strong connections within the local community. My life and ministry have been shaped by a passion for serving others, whether through hospitality, care, or pastoral leadership.

Trustee

I’ve worked all my life in Software Development, currently as a Technical Lead for a company providing a Case Management tool for community mental health clinicians in the NHS.

My church life has been varied, in my youth I came to meet God at St Andrews in Sedbergh but wandered away from the path, until, while looking for somewhere a friend introduced me to a Baptist Church in Meanwood Leeds through Alpha, there I found my home (including my wife though it took me 10 years to realise that). I became apart of the Leadership team as a Deacon. When I got married we moved away from Leeds to Thornhill Dewsbury and became part of St Michael and All Angels, where I am part of the Bell Ringing team currently.

While in Meanwood I helped to run and assist with the youth work there, from Sunday school, to a Rock Solid Youth Group and included some trips away! One of my interests is that I am a Senior Dinghy Sailing Instructor and Powerboat Instructor which I’ve used for 40+ years to instruct Scouts, Primary School & Secondary School children, Scripture Union Camps as well as adults. I am associated to a Christian Outdoor Centre in Glencoe where I have been going every year since I was 13 and it was one of those things where you look back and see God set that path for me to not to forget and to come back later in life.

Other interests include Photography (I have EFIAP & BPE2* Awards), British Railways history and modeling them, Bee Keeping, and probably a few others!
